Chicago police seize 12,000 pounds of cannabis
A Chicago police investigation of an alleged drug trafficking organization with links to street gangs has netted more than 12,000 pounds of cannabis.
A police department statement released Tuesday says the cannabis seized this week on Chicago’s West Side has an estimated street value of more than $33 million.
As part of raids, which included a search of a warehouse, authorities also seized seven vehicles and two guns.
Seven suspects have been charged with drug possession in the case. The suspects are male and range in age from 20 to 43.
