Bail set in North Aurora standoff case
Bail was set at $10,000 Tuesday for a North Aurora man who held police at bay Tuesday afternoon at his home.
Charles Treadwell, 24, of the 200 block of Linn Court, was being held at the Kane County jail Wednesday afternoon.
He is charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, a Class 4 felony; possession of a firearm without firearm owner identification, a Class A misdemeanor; and possession of ammunition without firearm owner identification, a Class A misdemeanor.
To get out of jail, Treadwell will have to post $1,000 bond.
North Aurora police were called at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday to a townhouse on Linn Court. While they were en route, a shot was fired inside the home.
Nearby townhouses were evacuated. Police were able to contact Treadwell at 5:15 p.m., and he came out voluntarily.
A handgun and ammunition were found in the townhouse, police said.
His next court date is Monday.
