Remember 9-11 blood drive set for Sept. 14

LOMBARD, Illinois— The Village of Lombard's community blood drive will be held on Sept. 14 and will commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the September 11 attacks. “Never Forget” is the focus of the fall blood drive, sponsored by the village in cooperation with Heartland Blood Centers.

The blood drive will be held on September 14 at two locations: in the Heartland Mobile Coach from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Yorktown Center, Mall Entrance #5 (near Egg Harbor); and 1:30-7 p.m. in the Community Room at Lombard Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson.

Appointments for either location may be made online at www.heartlandbc.org or by calling (630) 620-5712. All donors will receive an exclusive “Remember 9-11” T-shirt as a way of saying thank you for the life-saving blood donation.

Donors will also receive a coupon for a free pint of Culver's Frozen Custard and be entered into a drawing to win one of several Yorktown Center gift cards.

Donors who would like an extra chance to win the gift card will be entered into a separate drawing if they bring along a new donor (meaning someone who has not donated to Heartland Blood Centers since July 2010.)

Donors are reminded that a photo ID is required to donate blood.
