Landmark tree has disease
The landmark Russian elm at the entrance to the 95th Street Library in Naperville has Dutch elm disease, and limbs which are visibly affected will be removed from the tree this week.
“We are alerting the public,” said Olya Tymciurak, 95th Street Library manager, “so they will expect a changed traffic pattern by our entrance while the crew is removing the branches.”
The library is working with a certified arborist and will consult other experts before further action regarding the tree.
