Sky scouting report

Atlanta Dream (13-13) at Chicago Sky (12-14), 7 p.m., Allstate Arena

TV: Comcast CN100

Last time: On Sunday, the Dream lost to the host Connecticut Sun, 96-87; on Saturday, the Sky defeated the host Washington Mystics, 71-70.

Skinny: The Sky is hoping to ride the emotion and theatrics of Saturday's spectacular win in Washington right into its must-win game against the Dream, which sits 1 game ahead with eight games left in the race for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. … A win by the Sky would give the Dream and the Sky identical records in a tie for fourth place. … Against the Mystics, Epiphanny Prince came up with the play of the day when she sank 2 free throws with 0.7 seconds on the clock to give the Sky a much-needed victory. Prince was fouled on a last-second, 3-point attempt with the Sky trailing by a point. She missed the third free throw on purpose as the clock ran out on the Mystics. Prince finished with 12 points, behind Sylvia Fowles (25 points, 11 rebounds) and Cathrine Kraayeveld (14 points on 4 of 5 three-pointers). … Atlanta, which finishes with a tougher schedule than the Sky, got 22 points and 9 rebounds from forward Angel McCoughtry in the loss to the Sun on Sunday.

Next: Washington Mystics at Allstate Arena, 7:30 p.m. Friday
