Why remind us about Facio’s attack?
I found the Aug. 15 article regarding Angel Facio to be quite distressing and distasteful. School starts for Elgin’s teachers, including Mrs. Gilbert, next week and this kind of reminder of such a horrific event does little to boost morale or encourage teachers, students, or parents to feel good about our schools.
Was Aug. 15 such a slow news day that you needed to resort to sensationalistic news with unnecessary large-font headlines and mug shots? To the Herald’s credit, it appears that you forewarned Carolyn Gilbert, via interview, that this article would be gracing the front page on this sunny Monday morning so she might have avoided reading the paper this day. I wish I had.
