Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field

TV: Comcast SportsNet Friday; FOX Saturday; ESPN Sunday

Radio: WGN 720-AM

Pitching matchups: The Cubs’ Randy Wells (4-4) vs. Jaime Garcia (10-6) Friday at 1:20 p.m.; Matt Garza (5-9) vs. Edwin Jackson (9-8) Saturday at 3:10 p.m.; Rodrigo Lopez (4-3) vs. Jake Westbrook (9-7) Sunday at 7:09 p.m.

At a glance: The Cardinals have slipped well behind the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central, and with the wild card not likely to come out of the division, they need to put together a streak now. The Cubs are 2-7 against the Cardinals this season, 1-2 at Wrigley Field. Albert Pujols has taken over the home run lead for St. Louis, with 30. Matt Holliday leads in on-base percentage (.411). Garza has held Lance Berkman to 2-for-15 at the plate. The Cubs’ Carlos Pena is 11-for-35 with 4 homers off Westbrook. With the acquisition of Rafael Furcal, former Cub Ryan Theriot has moved from shortstop to second base for the Cardinals.

Next: Atlanta Braves at Wrigley Field, Monday-Thursday
