Preckwinkle to hold online town hall meeting

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle will hold an online town hall 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, to give people a chance to “Tell Toni” their ideas on the Cook County budget and important financial decisions that will be made in the coming weeks and months. Video will stream live at her new budget website cookcountyil.gov/budget. Participants can ask questions up until the day before the town hall on the website’s “Tell Toni” page and on Twitter using the hashtag #TellToni. Questions can also be submitted online during the event. “I may not know a lot about Twitter, but I’m willing to learn if it will help better serve the people who elected me to this office,” Preckwinkle said in a news release. There will be a public hearing on the budget Aug. 25. Preckwinkle will submit her budget recommendation no later than Oct. 31.
