I want a real tea party revolt

I want my country back. Our country was founded by people, for people and made up of people. We had the original tea party to protest against our tax money going to pay for King George’s lavish lifestyle. Now corporations, owned and operated by the rich, have set us back 200 years.

They have one purpose — profit at any cost. People are another expense to be controlled. Unions, which had to be created to protect individuals, are being crushed. Environmental protection is just another cost and the EPA is being torn down so we are back to trashing the earth.

The politicians have been bought and continue to make decisions favoring business over people. We voted them in but corporate money paid for the campaign, so they do what they are told once they are in office.

Campaign reform should make this illegal. Individuals need protection and a voice for fairness. We are accused of bad money management if we can’t pay our mortgages, yet huge business are given our tax money and given a pass on the bad money decisions they made. The execs are still paid huge sums. Exxon-Mobil made record profits this year.

It’s time for a real tea party revolt, not the right wing extremist ones who stole the name. Taxes are to be used for helping the people with roads, schools, bridges, electricity, water and protection from the businesses that are trying to take the country from us. I want my country back.
