Palatine’s Wellness Place welcomes 5 to board

Wellness Place, Palatine, welcomes five new members to their current board of directors: Marina Davis of Palatine; Deputy Chief of Police Bradley Grossman of Palatine; Dr. Ramji Rajendran of Hawthorn Woods; Kenneth Scott of Barrington; and Dr. Michael Soble of Hawthorn Woods.

“We are very fortunate to have such a diverse cross-section of the professional community as enhancements to our current board,” board Chairwoman Ellaine Sambo-Reyther said. “Wellness Place has been offering exceptional cancer support services to the area for over 10 years. With the latest additions to our board of directors, I’m positive we have the right people in place to get us where we need to be for the next decade.”

The new board members are joined by nearly a dozen existing members. The team is collaborating to utilize their collective talents to find new, innovative ways of reaching those who are seeking comfort, hope and support during their cancer experience.

Marina Davis is currently president of Tandem Consulting Inc., a company specializing in Leadership and Organization Development. She also serves as adjunct faculty at Northwestern University. Davis holds a bachelor’s degree in restaurant management and a master’s degree in human resource development.

Deputy Chief of Police Bradley Grossman has been a member of the Palatine Police Department for 22 years and has been the deputy chief of police for the last 11 years. He received his master’s degree from Western Illinois University and is a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, Va.

Dr. Ramji Rajendran is a radiation oncologist for the Chicago Area Cancer Care Radiation Oncology Consultants and practices at Alexian Brothers Cancer Center and St. Alexius Cancer Center. He attended college at the University of Virginia and came to the Midwest for a combined M.D./Ph.D. program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Rajendran has a Ph.D. in molecular mechanisms and cell biology of hormone dependent cancers such as breast cancer and prostate cancer.

Kenneth Scott is principal of Kenneth J. Scott, CPA, Ltd. He graduated from Northern Illinois University and became a CPA in 1988 and received his MBA from DePaul University.

Dr. Michael Soble practices medicine at North Shore Oncology-Hematology Associates serving the north and northwest suburbs of Chicago. He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago and completed his residency and fellowship in Oncology and Hematology at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center. He is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology.
