Sign up for Lions golf outing Sept. 9

The "Elgin Area Lions Clubs Golf Outing" is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 9 at the Hughes Creek Golf Course in Elburn.

This is the first time that the Elgin Lions Club, which will celebrate its 90th anniversary this October, and the South Elgin Lions Club have cooperated on an event of this type and hopes are high that it will be a success.

Both organizations are major contributors to the less advantaged in our towns and the golf outing is a chance to obtain revenue to fund their charitable works and to have a little fun in the process.

The public is invited.

The cost for 18 holes of golf with a cart, a snack at the turn and a steak dinner is $80. that's a bargain compared to the outings of other organizations.

There are prizes for good golf and a raffle with many outstanding items. Businesses and other organizations are invited to advertise and provide necessary exercise for their employees by demanding that they come to the outing and play some golf.

Golfing fees and sponsorship fees are required by Aug. 31; the clubs must finalize financial arrangements with the course by that date.
