Vote for favorite library card design Aug. 12-21

Now it's your turn. Elementary school students from all over Naperville created excellent designs for a brand new children's library card. Now it's your turn to vote and help us select the winning design that will be used for the new Naperville Public Library children's card. Voting on the Library's website, www.naperville-lib.info, begins at 9 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 12 and continues until midnight, Sunday, Aug. 21.

“We are so thrilled at the quality of designs we received,” explains Carla Nolidis, Nichols Library Circulation Checkout Supervisor and card contest coordinator. “The entries clearly show the talent and creativity of the children in our community.”

Nolidis asks people to vote for their favorite designs and to encourage friends and neighbors to do the same. “The winning design will be on the front of a special library card just for children; thousands of Naperville kids will be carrying this new card,” she explains. The winner and the new card will debut during Young Readers Week, Nov. 6 to 12.

In addition to the creativity of the design, Nolidis was impressed with how much the children value the library and reading. “Over and over again the children's designs showcased the positive impact that the Library had on their lives.”

While the designs from 20 students are finalists, Nolidis stresses that “everyone is a winner! We're also looking for ways to showcase more of the entries in the future.”
