Boy says fish that got away looked like a foot
WAUKEGAN — A boy fishing in the northern Illinois community of Antioch is telling authorities that he thinks he was reeling in a human foot before his catch fell back in the lake water.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office says in a news release that a diving team has been dispatched to Lake Marie to search for the object. They want to determine if, as the boy and two adults he was fishing with believe, it was a human foot that slipped off the hook Wednesday morning. The boy pulled it within three feet of the boat.
The release says special sonar equipment has been brought in to help with the search in the lake's murky water.
