Fire scouting report

Chicago Fire at Vancouver Whitecaps

When: 6 p.m. at Empire Field

TV: Galavision

Scouting the Fire: Every game is a must-win match for the Fire (2-6-13, 19 points), mainly because the club is winless in its last seven games. The Fire could be without Cory Gibbs and Diego Chaves because of injuries suffered Wednesday against Philadelphia.

Scouting the Whitecaps: Arlington Heights native Tom Soehn took over as coach midway through the season, but the expansion Whitecaps (2-11-9, 15 points) have the worst record in MLS and are winless in their last six games. The teams played to a 0-0 draw in May in Chicago in their only other meeting. Forward Eric Hassli leads the team with 8 goals.

Next: at New York Red Bulls, 6:30 p.m. Saturday
