Elk Grove Village marketing itself through book

Elk Grove Village is trying to market itself as a business-friendly town by publishing a community guide dubbed “The Elk Grove Book.”

The guide, which will be available in print and online, will chronicle the community's achievements and showcase its business resources, according to the website theelkgrovebook.com.

“The purpose for this book is simple: promote local commerce and industry through a powerful marketing and networking tool,” Elk Grove Village Mayor Craig Johnson said in a written statement. “We believe that retention and growth of our existing business base is contingent upon sharing our story with the world. The Elk Grove Book will help us spread the message of ‘The Exceptional Community.'”

The book's target audience includes residents, existing businesses, and companies interested in moving to town. It's a sales and marketing tool that businesses can use to promote the region to their clients.

The roughly 150-page book would include a history of the village, as well as profiles of local businesses that are “Made in Elk Grove.” Some of that information and other village resources also will be featured on the website.

For more information about how to get your business featured in The Elk Grove Book, call Josh Grodzin, director of business development and marketing, at (847) 357-4005.

The book likely will be released by year end or in early 2012.
