Willowbrook man held on stalking charge
A DuPage County judge set bail Monday at $100,000 for a Willowbrook man accused of leaving flowers and an “explicit sexual message” on a Downers Grove woman’s doorstep.
Chauntel Tims, 38, of the 100 block of Kingery Quarter, faces one count of felony stalking. Prosecutors said Tims, in May, refused to leave the victim’s residence until she called police, then returned in June and tried to enter without permission through a locked patio door.
Later in June, they said, he went back and left flowers and an explicit note on the victim’s doorstep. Asked in court whether he was able to post the necessary $10,000 to bond out of jail, Tims told a judge, “No thank you, to put it bluntly.”
He returns to court Aug. 8.
