3 plead not guilty in fatal Galesburg shooting

GALESBURG — Three men have pleaded not guilty to charges related to a fatal shooting in a crowded park in the western Illinois city of Galesburg.

Eighteen-year-old Michael Fisher, 18-year-old Michael Garrett and 21-year-old Kareem Dixon all entered their pleas in Knox County court Monday. WGIL Radio reports that all three are accused of concealing evidence in the death of 21-year-old Jemell Ware.

Authorities say Ware died not long after the shooting near a playground in Kiwanis Park on June 30.

The 46-year-old man accused of being the triggerman in Ware's death won't be in court until Aug. 15.
