Gov. Quinn to meet with Chicago mayor on McCormick

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn has met with Mayor Rahm Emanuel and legislative leaders to talk about keeping labor reforms at Chicago's McCormick Place convention center.

Senate Republican leader Christine Radogno of Lemont says all the leaders were committed to keeping the work rule changes. She says Quinn has agreed to bring the unions back to the bargaining table.

The top politicians met Tuesday in Quinn's downtown office.

A federal judge ruled in March that labor reforms lawmakers wanted at McCormick Place were illegal because they went beyond the terms of union contracts in ordering them. The judge also ruled legislators overturned collective bargaining rights in violation of the National Labor Relations Act.

Some conventions have pulled out of the city because of the high cost of hosting events at McCormick.
