Chicago fire officials investigate fatal blaze

Chicago authorities are investigating an apartment fire that left two men dead on the city's South Side.

The 911 call came after 1 p.m. on Monday. Chicago fire officials say the fire started at the back of a three-story apartment building and spread to the building's porch and attic.

The victims were found in the attic. The men have not been identified. Authorities say they were both in their 20s.

Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford says there were no working smoke detectors in the building.

Langford says the cause of the fire remains under investigation. He says it wasn't considered suspicious.
