Audition for ‘Bleacher Bums’

The Geneva Underground Playhouse will hold auditions for September performances of “Bleacher Bums,” the play written by Joe Mantegna and members of Chicago’s Organic Theater Company about die-hard, bleacher fans of the Chicago Cubs.

Open auditions will be held beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 24, and 7 p.m. Monday, July 25, in the lower floor of the theater, 524 W. State St., Geneva. Callbacks, if necessary, will be scheduled later in the same week.

The show has seven male roles of various ages, and two female roles. The production also is looking for people to work the technical side of the production.

The auditions are for shows scheduled to take place the four weekends in September, Sept. 9-30. Rehearsals will take place throughout August.

The Geneva Underground Playhouse is a nonprofit organization that puts onstage shows throughout the year, and also hosts performances by other theater organizations, comedy groups, musicians and other performers.
