Reduce the bloated federal government

In my opinion Barack Obama’s ability to be the president of this country is lower than any chief executive we have had in my 84 years of existence. Yes, even Jimmy Carter was more qualified, something I thought could never be. Mr. Obama campaigned for the office promising to do a better job than his predecessor (who left much to be desired).

Since assuming office he instituted his policies of change that led us to where we now are. As unskilled a president as Mr. Obama is, the blame for much of this mess can’t be on him alone. For instance, look at the trillions of dollars spent by the government that must be cut if we are to survive. Liberals say don’t cut social programs because it is our duty to help the less fortunate, even if we must borrow money to do so. Conservatives say we can’t afford to keep borrowing and spending in an effort to keep all of the social programs. Both sides have a legitimate argument and both sides can be accommodated if government would spend wisely and eliminate programs and bureaucracies that are useless.

For instance there are 12 Cabinet positions funded by taxpayers. Eliminate the Cabinets that are worthless. Since Jimmy Carter instituted the Department of Education have we produced smarter students? Of course not. Get rid of it. Why would George Bush give us the Department of Homeland Security when we already have the FBI and the CIA? Get rid of it.

Then eliminate programs that don’t work. Until we start dismantling this bloated and costly bureaucracy of ours we will continue down the road of self-destruction caused by a couple of centuries of inept legislators.
