Ill. officials take mortgage help to Chicago areas

CHICAGO — Illinois and local officials will be available Saturday for residents of the Little Village and Pilsen neighborhoods of Chicago to discuss the mortgage crisis.

Officials with the state's mortgage relief project will assist homeowners who are in danger of losing their homes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Arturo Velasquez Institute on South Western Avenue.

Experts from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and the Illinois Housing Development Authority will be available to help homeowners and discuss the mortgage problem.

State lawmakers from the area will also attend.
