Armed men tie up Lake Forest house sitter
Three masked men, two with handguns, broke into a Lake Forest house early Friday morning and tied up a house sitter before robbing the home, according to police.
Authorities said the men, who were wearing black clothing, pried open the back door of a home on the 100 block of Foster Place at around 12:45 a.m. Friday.
A female relative of the homeowners, who were on vacation, was asleep in the home when the men broke in, according to police.
One of the men duct taped the woman’s wrists, ankles and mouth while the other two ransacked the house, police said.
By the time the woman was able to free herself and call 911, the suspects had fled the home with jewelry and electronics, according to authorities.
The victim told police two of the men were approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and the third was taller than that.
