Acura Pharmaceuticals names Jones as CEO
PALATINE — Acura Pharmaceuticals Inc. on Monday said it named Robert B. Jones as its president and chief executive.
Jones had been serving in that capacity on an interim basis since May and succeeded Andy Reddick who died on April 28. Jones also was named to the company's board.
Jones joined Acura in April 2008 as senior vice president and chief operating officer. The Palatine, Ill.-based company develops technology to make drugs harder to tamper with.
In afternoon trading, Acura shares fell 13 cents, or 3.2 percent, to $3.94 as the market moved broadly lower.
