Collecting books in Lake County:
United Way of Lake County and Bernie’s Book Bank have teamed up to host a book drive called “Page it Forward.” Since its June 21 kickoff, more than 12,000 books have been collected. A collection is set for July 12 at Independence Grove Forest Preserve near Libertyville. Books can be dropped off between noon and 9 p.m. Donors will receive coupons for a complimentary scoop of custard from Culver’s in Libertyville and can enter a raffle to win a $50 Visa card.
