2 men arrested in fatal shooting of Decatur man

DECATUR — Authorities in central Illinois say two suspects are in custody after the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old Decatur man during a dispute that also left two other men wounded.

The (Decatur) Herald & Review reports that Christopher Kraft was shot to death Tuesday outside his home. Police say a 48-year-old man was also wounded by gunfire, while Kraft's 52-year-old father suffered machete wounds to both hands.

David Dickerson is deputy chief of criminal investigations with the Decatur Police Department. He says a confrontation broke out between two rival groups and the situation remains under investigation.

The men in custody have been booked on preliminary charges of first-degree murder. And Dickerson says more arrests are possible.
