Lombard Fire responds to business fire

LOMBARD, Illinois— Lombard firefighters responded to 800 East Roosevelt Road for a reported structure fire just before 10 a.m. this morning. The building is a single story strip mall with multiple businesses.

According to Acting Battalion Chief, Art Peters, the fire was concentrated in the rear of the building of a large entertainment business. The fire generated a large volume of smoke inside the business. Automatic fire sprinklers controlled the fire until fire companies were able to gain access into the building. The business was unoccupied at the time the fire department made entry.

The origin and cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The business will remain closed until clean-up has been completed. No injuries were reported. Responding fire departments also included Oak Brook, Oakbrook Terrace, Villa Park and York Center.

Questions regarding the fire may be directed to Peters at (630) 620-5734.
