Chicago children’s hospital begins promoting move

Although a move to new quarters by Chicago’s Children’s Memorial Hospital is about a year away, the institution has launched a $3 million campaign touting its new name and location.

The campaign features young patients of the hospital asking about the move, which will be from its location in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood to a spot near the city’s high-end Michigan Avenue shopping district.

With the new location will come the new name, the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Chicago philanthropist Ann Lurie donated $100 million to the construction cost of the new facility in honor of her late husband.

Hospital officials say the rebranding campaign will last about a year. Children’s plans to open the new hospital in June 2012.
