Antioch teen gets prison for bicycle theft

An Antioch teenager was sentenced to two years in prison Wednesday after admitting he stole a custom bicycle from outside a store.

Harley Hall, 17, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft during a hearing before Lake County Circuit Judge Daniel Shanes.

Assistant State's Attorney Ryan Koehl said Hall, of the 200 block of Joanna Court, was in downtown Antioch around 4:30 p.m. on April 28. Koehl said Hall spotted a $1,000 custom-made Credence bicycle outside a store, and was seen by witnesses riding it away from the store.

Witnesses chased Hall and called police with a description of the clothes he was wearing, Koehl said, and police caught Hall about a block away from the store.

Koehl said Hall has an extensive juvenile record and was on parole from juvenile prison for burglary at the time of the theft.
