Police: Cicero house customized for pot growing

Police in suburban Chicago say a traffic stop led them to a Cicero home that was customized for growing marijuana.

Police say two men are accused of growing nearly 1,000 pot plants inside the home. Officials estimate the drugs are worth $4 million on the streets.

Authorities found nearly two dozen air conditioners running inside the home. The house featured sealed humidity and temperature controls, secret exit doors, grow lights and a maze of growing rooms.

Cicero Police Superintendent Bernard Harrison says the home had been rewired so it had four extra circuit boxes and drew electricity from outside power lines, bypassing the electrical meter.

Police went to the home after smelling marijuana when they pulled over the home's owner. The men found at the home are facing multiple charges.
