Bartlett 4th of July fest starts June 30

The annual Bartlett Fourth of July festival will be held June 30 through July 4, at Apple Orchard Community Park, Stearns & South Bartlett Road. Hours: 5-11 p.m. Thursday and Friday; noon-11 p.m. Saturday; 3-11 p.m. Sunday; noon-9:30 p.m. Monday.

Bartlett’s annual five-day festival puts an emphasis on food, drink, music and the eagerly-awaited turtle races at the Aquatic Center. Successive bands play on the main stage, along with an exciting Battle of the Bands. The turtles take off at 4 p.m. July 4 — watch 1,000 plastic turtles race to win prizes for their corresponding ticket holders in this Bartlett Parks Foundation Fundraiser. $10 for one turtle or a “shell shocker pack” of 11 for $100. Proceeds go toward Foundation projects.

The fest also has a tent where all of Bartlett’s nonprofit organizations can meet the public. Don’t forget the Fourth of July parade is 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 3.
