Batavia Showstoppers end season on top

The Batavia Park District Showstoppers took part recently in a dance competition at the Paramount Theater in Aurora.

This was their final competition of the season and the dancers took home a number of awards. They received three first-place overall, one second-place overall and two third-place overall awards.

Showstoppers consists of 26 dancers within three groups: Starlight Dancers for beginners; Spotlight Dancers for intermediate; and Elite Dancers for advanced.

“This is only their second year competing, and I’m very proud of them,” said Lori McDonald, recreation supervisor. “They definitely ended their season on a high note.”
