Pitching matchups: The Sox’ Edwin Jackson (4-6) vs. Jordan Zimmermann (5-6) today at 7:10 p.m.; John Danks (3-8) vs. Tom Gorzelanny (2-5) Saturday at 3:10 p.m.; Phil Humber (7-3) vs. Livan Hernandez (4-8) Sunday at 1:10 p.m.

At a glance: It should be interesting to see how the Nationals respond after manager Jim Riggleman abruptly resigned over a contract dispute following Thursday’s win over the Mariners, which completed a three-game sweep. Washington has won 11 of 12 and is over .500 this late in the season for the first time since 2005. As for the White Sox, they won two of three from the Cubs before Thursday’s off day. The Sox have won 17 straight interleague series and are 17-4 in their last 21 games vs. National League teams. The White Sox swept a three-game series at Washington last year.
