S. Barrington students win poster contest

The South Barrington Garden Club sponsored a poster contest, in conjunction with the Green Group at Rose School, South Barrington, as part of a national campaign for National Garden Clubs Inc. The contest was open to all first through fifth-graders.

On May 24, members of the South Barrington Garden Club presented awards to four students from Rose School, who won first place for their grade level in the “Woodsy the Owl” poster contest at the State level. The winning posters move on to the national level.

The students are part of the Rose School Green Group, which is involved in projects to help them understand various ways they can help the earth be a better place for all. Recycling and composting, as well as plantings at the school, are among their many undertakings.
