Libertyville market opens Thursday

MainStreet Libertyville’s annual farmers market begins its 31st year with the season opening Thursday, June 23. The market, on Church Street west of Milwaukee Avenue, will be open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine, every Thursday until Oct. 20. Thirty vendors offer fresh produce, fruits, pastries, cheese, plants, flowers, free-range meats and eggs, pickles, local honey fresh-made crepes and more. Special demonstrations by a local chef using fresh produce are featured each week.

Mayor Terry Weppler opens the market at 9 a.m. Thursday with the cutting of the watermelon ceremony. Call (847) 680-0336 or visit www.mainstreetlibertyville.org.
