Heritage Park meeting in Wheeling cancelled
Because of a storm-related power outage, the Wheeling Park District canceled a public meeting that had been scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, to unveil the plan for the redevelopment of Heritage Park. The meeting was to be held at the Wheeling Park District Community Recreation Center, but power lost during Tuesday night’s storms hadn’t yet been restored Wednesday afternoon. There was no word on when the meeting would be rescheduled. The construction project, which is set to begin in 2012, is in partnership with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago as part of a water reservoir to prevent flooding along the Des Plaines River.
