NU’s Phillips takes on national role

Members of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics have selected Jim Phillips, Northwestern’s director of athletics and recreation, to serve as its third vice president in 2011-12.

UCLA Director of Athletics Dan Guerrero will lead the organization at President during the upcoming year.

“I am very honored and humbled to be elected by my peers to serve our Association,” Phillips said.

Phillips will serve as third vice president for a year, then move into the second vice presidency (2012-13) before eventually becoming the NACDA President for the 2014-15 academic year.
