Chicago Sky game day

By Patricia Babcock McGraw

New York Liberty (2-2) at Chicago Sky (2-1), 7:30 p.m. Friday, Allstate Arena

TV: Comcast CN100

Last time: On Tuesday, the host Liberty lost to the Atlanta Dream, 79-58; the Sky won at Washington, 84-77, Saturday.

Sky update The Sky is coming off an impressive wins against Connecticut and Washington. To beat the Mystics in the second game of a back-to-back, the Sky had to take a 6 a.m. flight. Forward Cathrine Kraayeveld wasn’t fazed as she poured in 19 points, hitting 6 of 7 three-pointers. She set the tone for a hot shooting night. The Sky finished hitting 56 percent of its three-pointers and 60 percent of its shots overall.

Liberty update: The Sky will be facing a cranky New York team that is on the road for the next three games and is coming off a 21-point loss. New York has lost two games in a row. Against the Dream on Tuesday, the Liberty shot the ball horribly, finishing with a 36 percent clip from the field, including 8 percent shooting from three-point range. All-star guard Cappie Pondexter, a Chicago native, has gotten off to a cool start with only 13.3 points per game. Against Atlanta, she finished with just 7 points on 3-of-12 shooting.

Next: Sky at Connecticut Sun, noon Sunday.
