Free van, boat on Craigslist a hoax

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. — A Craigslist ad which offered a free boat and minivan drew plenty of takers to the home of a Sheboygan couple.

The only problem was the couple didn't place the ad on Craigslist and the boat and minivan weren't free. Debbie Brown says they're not even for sale.

Brown says she woke up Thursday morning to a small crowd of people in her front yard. She says if her dog hadn't started barking, her fishing boat might be gone. Her husband had already driven the minivan to work.

By late morning, more than two dozen people had come to her home in response to the ad before someone posted that it was a hoax.

The Sheboygan Press says (http://bit.ly/iAdKTs ) Brown plans to take legal action if police find out who posted the fake ad.
