Libertville extends demolition moratorium

A moratorium on demolition permits for commercial buildings in downtown Libertyville has been extended six months to Dec. 14. The village board on Tuesday agreed to the extension to prevent any portion of the exterior walls and roofs of commercial buildings in the downtown core area from being torn down while a historic preservation ordinance is considered. Staff is preparing a report regarding a preservation ordinance to be discussed by the village board at an upcoming work session.
