C. Ind. girl found safe after reported abduction

TIPTON, Ind. — Police say a 10-year-old girl was found safe several hours after she was reported abducted from her central Indiana hometown, but a search continues for her missing great-grandmother in a nearby city.

A frantic search started Tuesday evening in Tipton for Serena Weicht after a woman reported hearing a scream and seeing a car speed off with the girl's bike left behind. WISH-TV reports the girl was left late Tuesday at a fast-food restaurant about 20 miles away in Westfield.

WTHR-TV reports police say the girl told officers a man drove her around from when she was taken until being dropped off.

Meanwhile, Noblesville police issued a missing person alert for 74-year-old Dorothy Heard, who was last seen Monday evening. WRTV reports investigators didn't immediately believe the incidents were related.
