White Sox vs. Minnesota Twins at Target Field
TV: WCIU Tuesday and Wednesday; Comcast SportsNet Thursday
Radio: WSCR 670-AM
Pitching matchups: The White Sox’ Gavin Floyd (6-5) vs. Carl Pavano (3-5) Tuesday at 7:10 p.m.; Mark Buehrle (6-4) vs. Nick Blackburn (5-4) Wednesday at 7:10 p.m.; Edwin Jackson (4-5) vs. Brian Duensing (3-6) Thursday at 12:10 p.m.
At a glance: Since May 7, the White Sox are 22-13, the third-best record in the American League. The resurgence has put them back into contention in the AL Central. Minnesota, the division’s depending champs, has won nine of its last 11 but still sits in last place. The White Sox have only played the Twins twice this season, losing both at home in early May. They were no-hit by Francisco Liriano in the series opener. The White Sox have lost 26 of their last 33 to the Twins and 21 of their last 27 in Minnesota. The Twins still are missing three key players due to injury: catcher Joe Mauer, relief pitcher Joe Nathan and DH Jim Thome.
Next: Arizona Diamondbacks, Friday-Sunday at Chase Field
