Free admission week begins at Shedd
CHICAGO — It's summer at the Shedd.
The aquarium along Chicago's lakefront is offering a week of free admission to its original galleries starting Monday and ending Friday. Aquarium officials say it's a celebration of summer vacation and warmer weather.
The aquarium will also offer discounts on its Shedd Pass, which includes admission to areas of the aquarium that feature belugas and sharks.
Shedd officials say the aquarium will stay open late this week with extended hours from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
