Cougars fall; Bandits win

The Kane County Cougars suffered their ninth loss in the last 13 games, falling 3-0 to the Dayton Dragons on Saturday night at Elfstrom Stadium.

Leonel Santiago tossed 7 innings of 3-hit shutout ball but got a no-decision, and the Cougars stranded one runner in each of the first six innings. The Cougars have lost four straight series against Eastern Division clubs.

Santiago had given up 12 runs on 21 hits over his last 2 outings but got back on track Saturday. He turned in his ninth quality start of the season, giving up 3 hits while walking two and striking out six.

Jon Keck (0-2) entered in the eighth, walked the first two batters and eventually got tagged with 3 unearned runs.

Offensively the Cougars totaled 4 hits for the second game in a row. Jake Kuebler had a pair of doubles
