Only God could have given words for Bible
A letter by Bob Lambert in the May 31 Daily Herald says the Gospels are unprovable, that it is all about faith.
It says, “About the Biblical Gospels, Kraft needs to consult his spiritual adviser ... none of them were written by anyone who ever saw Jesus in the flesh much less by any of the 12 disciples. Even Bible scholars, who believe every word of the Bible is truly the word of God, acknowledge that the Biblical Gospels were written at least 40 years after the crucifixion when it is unlikely any of the disciples were alive. By then the letters of Paul were in circulation and may have influenced the words the writers put in Jesus’ mouth.”
Bob Lambert is wrong. The Scriptures, original writings, are proven. The Bible is the most remarkable book, far outselling all others, for a reason. The field of Biblical apologetics answers critics such as Bob Lambert.
Scripture says its original writings were through-breathed by God. The Greek word used is “graphé,” meaning the ink dried on the page. The Greek words in the gospels and the letters of Paul were what God intended.
The Scriptures were written by 40 or more human authors, almost 2,000 years ago, yet the books fit together like pieces of a giant jigsaw puzzle.
There are more than 7,800 prophecies, of which more than 7,500 have come to pass. Not one was in error. Some foretold events centuries in advance, giving names, places and dates. Only God, Who is not bound by time, can do that.
