Hoffman Estates says get out there and bike

As the weather gets nicer, the village of Hoffman Estates’ Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory committee encourages you to get out and bike.

There are 26 miles of paths in and around the village available for use.

This week is the Chicago area’s Bike to Work Week. The committee encourages residents to try bicycle commuting as a healthy and safe alternative to driving to work.

The BPAC is also organizing a fun ride Sunday, July 3, at 11:30 a.m. in conjunction with the village’s Fourth of July Festival. It will begin at the John Muir Literacy Academy, 1973 Kensington Lane.

The village will also install bicycle route signage later this year on various routes.

Remember to always be safe when you ride, and follow the rules of the road.
