Sycamore lawyer faces 3 prostitution charges

A Sycamore attorney who received her law license last year has been charged with three counts of prostitution.

The Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times say 25-year-old Reema Bajaj pleaded not guilty Thursday in DeKalb County to two misdemeanors and one felony.

Police say evidence links Bajaj to an August 2010 incident that happened within 1,000 feet of a school.

The Tribune says Bajaj was a 2010 graduate of the Northern Illinois University Law School and was not a practicing attorney at the time. The Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission website says she was admitted to the bar in November.

Bajaj also is charged with offering to perform a sex act with a man for $50 last month.

Bajaj remains free on $500 bond. She couldn’t be reached for comment.
