Man pleads guilty to sexual assault of Carpentersville girl
A Chicago man pleaded guilty to having sexual contact with a girl he knew who was younger than 13, authorities said.
Victor M. Ponce, 33, was sentenced Friday to seven and a half years in prison in exchange for his guilty plea to one count of criminal sexual assault, a felony.
Ponce engaged in sexual contact with the girl at her Carpentersville home from Nov. 25, 2001, to March 31, 2009, prosecutors said.
By law, Ponce must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence. He received credit for the 219 days he served in the Kane County jail.
The case was investigated by the Kane County Child Advocacy Center.
