Glen Ellyn cops probe possible abduction attempt

Authorities are looking for a suspect in an attempted child abduction Wednesday in Glen Ellyn.

Police said a man approached a 9-year-old boy and offered to give him money to get into his van about 7:15 p.m. at Stacy Park, St. Charles Road and Highland Avenue. The child refused and walked back toward his mom, who was in another area of the park.

The suspect walked back to a dark red minivan, where another man was waiting, and the two drove away, police said.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 230 pounds, with light brown hair and a mustache. The man was wearing blue jean shorts and a T-shirt.

There was no description available for the second man, police said.
