Divers pull Illinois man's body from N. Indiana lake

NORTH WEBSTER, Ind. — Authorities say divers pulled an Illinois man's body from a northern Indiana lake hours after friends reported he had gone missing while swimming from a pontoon boat.

State conservation officers say the body of 35-year-old Martin Regan of Orland Hills, Ill., was found about four hours after he was lost Thursday in Lake James near the Kosciusko County town of North Webster.

His friends told officers that Regan was swimming beside the boat when he disappeared below the surface without any calls for help.

Searchers used sonar units to find his body in about 40 feet of water. An autopsy was planned to confirm how Regan died.
